Last week, September 24th, in class we formed into groups of 4 and built rockets. I was the team leader, Manny was the materials monitor, Elliott was the reporter and Melissa was the recorder. We built a launch station for our rocket by attaching a string 4 meters long to two chairs. We built a rocket by filling a ballon with air and taping it to a straw which was attached to the string. We did 6 trials for the balloon rockets and each trial had a different amount of air in the balloon. We measured the diameter of the balloon, the time it takes to travel, and distance is traveled. In conclusion, we found that the greater the diameter of the balloon, the greater the distance and the time. In addition, the lesser the diameter of the balloon, the lesser the distance and the time.
